Hailing out of South London, Jay Fullstop V is known for his creative flow, rhyming skills, he first started rhyming at the age of 13, while still at school where he would use his school books to write lyrics in, rather than do his homework in them. At that period of time the UK Urban scene was getting noticed commercially and acts such as So Solid Crew, Pay As You Go and others were emerging on our T.V Screens and Radio Sets so there was no lack of influence upon him. Jay full stop V is his nickname J.V for Jarvis Vincent which his dad gave him when he was born. Jay kept the name as his alias, grabbed a pen and paper and the rest was history.
He started to get noticed in and outside of school for his talent, where at lunch break in the playground everybody would gather around to here his lyrics as well as other Mc's in the school and would heap praise on him, this gave him a boost of confidence to make him think that he can make something out of his talent and be know for it. Jay Fullstop V then took his lyrics to a wider scale, appearing on Pirate radio station to broadcast his style of rhyming stations like Major Fm, Delight Fm, Frontline Fm, Lay Low Fm, World Fm any pirate radio you can think of he was there. Although wining Emcee battles in college and on Radio Jay then looked at his talent and wanted more than just a Pirate Radio slot. Jay then started to record tracks in a bedroom of a friend and was then recognized for his debut version of Ghetto Kyote all over the UK a website was then created, to promote his tracks. Jay had his name floating around forums about his songs and radio sets. Jay continues to build on this buzz but it only lasted for a while.
Jay tried looking for management, but none were interested in felt that he weren't ‘creative' enough. It was then when MDR and Platt told him that they need him to join Lyrically Scar'd to make it a complete force. Lyrically Scar'd consisting of the best MC's that were in his last year of school, that would showcase there musical talents and push there way in to the Music scene, and ex member came out with the name Lyrically Scar'd which means their music will leave a listener scarred by their lyrics. Lyrically Scar'd's music will engrave into the minds and souls of each and every listener. This is real talk and real music for real people!!!
Since the establishment of the crew Jay Fullstop V and his crew members have continuously performed exceptionally, memorizing, live shows at events such as Plan B in Brixton, The New Cross Gateside Festival, New 291 Show at Hackney Empire, Tim Westwood's University Tour, MOBO's Uni Challenge, The Have You Got Skillz Showcase at Wandsworth Civic Centre, Urban Kingdom Presents 1st Verse at Illusions, SW16, The May Day Festival in Ipswich, Lewisham People's Day 2006, Southwark Youth Council Showcase at Broadway Theartre in Catford, Baracuda Bar in Aldgate and The Carling Academy in Islington plus many more.
Jay Full Stop V then went on to feature on numerous underground DVD's before releasing a DVD along with Alliance called ‘STS (Salute the Streets) DVD' showing the underground talent in London. ‘Salute The Streets' was released May 7th 2007. Having featured on BBC3's "Singing With The Enemy" which received rave reviews from viewers, they showed there passion and versatility within there musical talent and a mature approach to experimenting with different musical styles. In the end Lyrically Scar'd and Dirty Cakes, produced a track named ‘Face Value' recorded at Mayfair studios engineered by Tommy D. This was when Run The City Records was born, a label that will unleash quality music on a regular basis!!
Run the city records is a new independent record label, run by Jay Fullstop V and Co Partners Forbidden Grammar and K.E.Y.Z. Their mission now is to push their music to a large audience. Every release brought out buy Jay Fullstop V and Lyrically Scar'd will be processed and supported through the Run the City Label. Through merchandise like hoodies, t shirts and Hats, Jay wants to promote the label as a positive way to show their urban style of music through the UK. Run the City already work along with services which will help the company to push their music, Services such as Video production, Visual Designers, Jewelers, Fashion Designers and Models. 2009 is the year for the company to show what it has to offer, with Jay Fullstop V's debut album ‘City Meals' as the first release on CD and MP3.
