Michael Jackson has died of a cardiac arrest (Thursday 25th of June).
The King Of Pop was taken to an LA hospital after having a heart attack. The Los Angeles Times reports that Michael was not breathing when paramedics arrived at his California home. Captain Steve Ruda told the paper paramedics responded to a call at the star's home around 8:26pm.
The medical team are thought to have performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on him and rushed him to UCLA Medical Center. The 50-year-old is then thought to have fallen into a coma before arriving at the medical centre.
The singer was due to begin a series of comeback concerts at London's O2 arena on July 13.
Michael Jackson is cited by many as one of the greatest performers and show-men of our time. He was one of the few artists to have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on two separate occasions. Starting his music career as the as part of the Jackson 5 with four of his brothers, Michael went on to forge an extremely successful solo music career. A recipient of 13 Grammy Awards and 13 number one solo singles, Michael was named the Most Successful Entertainer of All Time by The Guiness World Records. To date Jackson accumulated sales of over 750 million albums worldwide.
Michael Jackson is survived by Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince ‘Blanket' Michael Jackson II.
Despite the media circus that surrounded his personal life and choices, Michael Jackson will always be one of the greatest, if not the greatest artists of all time.
