Nigerian Carnival UK 7th-8th August

NIGERIAN CARNIVAL UK IS HERE AT FINSBURY PARK, LONDON

The moment we all eagerly await is finally here. The Nigerian Carnival, UK is barely three weeks away. All is now set to rock the city of London come August 7th and 8th 2010 as the biggest Nigerian outdoor event will be showcased on a world podium. The funfair has already started with a one-of-its-kind street parade through all the major boroughs in London on Thursday July 8th 2010. An assemblage of the biggest UK based Nigerian artistes and ardent supporters of the Carnival were on a jolly ride to launch the project in a grand style. The video of the theme song Nigerian Carnival was shot during this trip round London Boroughs.

Events leading up to the main show are already on the high with the parade showcasing the ebullient spirit of Nigerians and friends of Nigeria. On the parade day, we witnessed a river of Green-White-Green denoting the national milieu of Nigeria in our adopted country the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Whilst we have confirmed that the event will be free for all to attend, we implore our esteemed revelers to dig deep into their respective pockets and donate generously towards the hosting of all future events. For us to make sure that we adequately feed the yearnings of all our revelers, a lot of expenditure has been made in one of the most economically challenging times in the history of the UK economy. Therefore, we humbly implore all and sundry to be at their giving best; while we the organizers will continue to break the night to provide you with exciting moments of the best of what Nigeria has to offer.

We promised to stage a grandiose cultural masterpiece, we have kept our promise and have brought together some of Nigerias best comedians, artistes, dancers and musicians all the way from Nigeria to perform over the two day period. Prominent amongst these lots are: Julius the genius Agu, Tony Oneweek and Keefee. We are proud to say they have been fully booked and confirmed to perform.

Do not miss out on the after party immediately after the second day 8th of August and the NCUK 'Appreciation Night' planned for August 13th 2010 and a special Nigerias 50th Independence Anniversary Parade scheduled for Friday 1st October 2010. A culmination of the events will be a special awards night tagged Spirit of Nigeria Awards (SON) and Independence Soiree to be held on Sunday October 30th 2010. We have dedicated this special ceremony to the past and present outstanding individuals in Nigeria who have over the years stood out in various aspects of service to our mother land. As part of our campaign to help launder the image of our dearly beloved nation, we stand tall to honor those who have through the years of selfless service, put national service before their personal interests. These individuals will be honored and we call on all to help identify such people wherever they may be so we can collectively bestow upon them a deserving mark of respect.

The Nigerian Carnival is not just a funfair or jamboree of sorts, but a calculated attempt to bridge the cultural gap between generations of those who have been in the UK for long without visiting their mother land and the children that are born here who we know will someday soon take over the mantle of leadership both here and in Nigeria. Therefore, our enlightenment campaign is deeply rooted in a course we will forever be proud to champion. We will continue to showcase the culture and commercial vibrancy of Nigeria in a bid to further launch her into international mainstream and defeat the negative stereotypes which we have been labeled.
