Step Up 3D
We often look to the US first for a lot of things: music, movies and the like. However, we know that this is a two-way street, and there are plenty of Brit-inspired shows, movies and musicians across the pond too – take half of our reality shows for (a perhaps bad) example. In comes Step Up 3D and although 3D is all the rage nowadays, it’s being released soon after the British incarnation of a 3D dance flick: Streetdance 3D – so we can say we got in there first…not that it matters of course.
I’m sure I don’t need to explain what the premise of the film centres around, but I will just in case. Girl loves to dance, boy loves that girl loves to dance. There’s a battle – a lot of people will dance. Boy and girl will probably fall in love. The game hasn’t changed, but the players are different. What this film is more concerned about, is giving audiences a chance to get involved by inciting that reactive viewing experience that only a 3D screening can give. You know, trying to lean back as far as possible into your seat when someone nearly backflips into your lap, or yelling when a foot seems to fly dangerously close to your money-maker. It’s all a part of the fun, and the new Step-Up is about experiencing dance, again and again, simply to enjoy watching something that most of us love to do. Released in August, this is another one for the summer!
