Actors Run the Race for Denzel

Zac Efron, Ryan Reynolds, Shia LaBeouf: at the moment these are pretty much some of the hottest names in Hollywood. They are also just a few names that have been on the roster for a battle to star with Oscar heavy-hitter Denzel Washington, in the upcoming movie Safe House – a spy thriller from director David Guggenheim. The premise of the movie involves a CIA agent – played by whoever bags the role – on the run in South Africa with a criminal, played by Washington. As the movie is currently in production, many of the details are being kept within tight-lipped sources. However, if we remember Denzel’s other roles, particularly as the criminal with a police badge in Training Day, we can understand why so many actors are vying to grab this role opposite the highly esteemed actor. If there’s a way to get noticed, it’s surely when next to Denzel as he’s giving his best in a sinister and eye-grabbing role.

With that being said, one can only hope that the actor that is cast is able to hold his own against Washington when he is in this mode – otherwise, all hopes and requests to get chosen are being made in vain. From reports, it would appear that Reynolds is the most likely to become the lucky guy. However, things can change at the drop of the hat – so it’s not official until it’s official.
