Appearing from the Dubstep scene, vocalist Katy B - a recent Brit School graduate - managed to have her new single "Katy on a Mission" peak to No.5 in the UK charts. Her strong, soulful singing style compliments the powerful synths and bassline. Where this genre may not be to everybody’s taste, it is definitely worth a listen. The lyrics in the song are catchy and it's easy to see why this song has done so well. It is fair to say, that some may think this is an attempt for the Dubstep to get recognition and become more commercial. However it can also be said, that more listeners are giving this genre a chance, just like how Chase and Status have consequently done well in the charts recently.

Katy B has just appeared at the Reading Festival, performing to thousands with the Dubstep DJs and producers Magnetic Man, a group made up by Benga, Skream and Artwork. She did a rendition of her song "Katy on a Mission" as well as another track "Perfect Strangers" which appears on the Magnetic Man album.
