Rihanna Shines at France's top music awards in glittering two-tier dress
Hot on the heels of her showstopping performance at the celebrity 'Hope for Haiti' telethon, RIhanna dazzled the crowds on the red carpet at France's top music awards in Cannes January 23rd.
The singer wore a two-tiered floor-length dress with a layer of large crocheted white flowers that rested on a shimmering silver-grey underlay to the NRJ music awards, where she picked up the gong for best international female.
The unusual high-collared dress had a low back that flaunted the tattoo that trails down the nape of her neck to her right shoulder-blade.
And despite slipping on a platform at the back of the stage after her performance of 'Russian Roulette' she picked herself up and walked off unharmed.
The evening was not without controversy however, after the Black Eyed Peas were mistakenly named Best International Group.
There was a collective boo when it was later revealed that an error had been made and German band Tokio Hotel were the real winners.
However, The Black Eyed Peas did win best international song for I Gotta Feeling, with which they opened the ceremony.
Other musical trailblazers included Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas, Robbie Williams who picked up the award for Best International Male and striptease artist Dita von Teese.
Jay-Z, Mika, Michael Buble, David Guetta and Kelly Rowland also performed, while Beyonce was there to accept an honorary award.
The winners were decided by public vote among the audience for national top 40 radio station NRJ and TV station TF1, on which the awards ceremony was also broadcast.
