Let's Hear It for the Girls at the BRIT Awards 2010
It was a night for the girls at the BRIT Awards 2010 with a Spice Girls win, an amazing three awards for Lady GaGa, Florence and the Machine winning Best British Album and the majority of the trophies going to females.
Mel B and Geri Halliwell made an energetic appearance together collecting The BRIT Hits 30 Award - celebrating the best performance of the show as it celebrated its 30th birthday - which they won for their Wannabe/Who Do You Think You Are medley.
Lady Gaga was her usual attention seeking self when she turned up wearing a huge white wig, mask and figure-hugging suit on, dedicating a notably more sombre performance to late designer Alexander McQueen before she burst into a disco-tastic number.
She also walked away with the awards for Best International Breakthrough Best International Act, Best International Female Solo Artist and Best International Album.
Meanwhile Ellie Goulding took home the Critics' Choice Award with a shy but charming acceptance speech.
Lily Allen claimed Best British Female Solo Artist, arriving onstage in a shocking ginger wig.
And last but certainly not least, Florence and the Machine took home the biggest award of the night, winning Best MasterCard British Album for Lungs only a year after herself winning the Critics' Choice Award. Girl Power indeed!
