No Grown-Ups: Underage Festival Hits London
Great bands, a sunny evening, just a typical summer festival ... with one difference - no adults!
Celebrating four years without any parental guidance, The Underage Festival returned with a bang at Victoria Park creating another successful concert exclusive for teenagers between 14-to 18 year-olds.
Speaking to promoter of Underage, Tom Baker said: "The unique thing about this festival is, once our audience has turned 18 they leave and after that they can't come anymore."
"Most festivals you grow up with, like Glastonbury, which I've been going to since I was a baby, but with this you only have a window of opportunity."
Taking centre stage this year was Courteeners, MIA, Tinie Tempah, Tinchy Stryder and Professor Green who performed to 10, 000 screaming boys and girls.
Loving the fact that there are no adults, fourteen-year-old Millie told URBANWORLD Osworld: "My mum thought it was a good idea. There are some adults who go to festivals who are a bit scary and intimidating."
Seventeen-year-old Ollie added: "A lot of parents wouldn't trust their kids at a festival; this sort of gives them an opportunity to feel safe.
"And you're less likely to get mugged. Security was really tight at the entrance."
However, despite having no snooping adults, there was security and local police patrolling the sectioned off area in Victoria Park, north London.
