» Model Focus: Carmen Leigh

Urbanworld's D.S.L. meets Carmen Leigh, another hot model with extras... not only is Carmen a joy to watch from the still lens, she is a presenter and is also producing her own show.
Tell us about the show, what made you come up with the idea?
I was actually on the phone to a friend of mine and he and i were discussing the modelling industry and how it's working for me and he asked me a very valid question which was "What do you plan to do for the industry" I was little confused when he asked me that question. After thinking and discussing this for some time it came to me that I wanted to make the industry more accessible for myself and others. I knew that this task would be very difficult but once obtained it would be an accomplishment. I find that a lot of models, artists, entertainers across the board are very selfish and do not like sharing. I do understand that when you have worked so hard for something you don't just want to give it away, but that isn't what I’m doing, I am actually providing relevant information, contacts and jobs for aspiring entertainers and who better to get that from then those who have already climbed the ladder. People will soon realise from this show that you get a lot more from sharing and helping others than you do from being selfish and with already speaking to many people about the concept, not one of them have declined, in fact they are all more then willing to share with me and the viewers the tricks of the trade and how to access the industry. I reckon in a few months we'll be seeing a lot more talented people who deserve recognition on our tv screens and in our magazines. So watch this space!
How its going so far?
It’s going very well so far. I am currently filming many interviews as well as doing behind the scenes footage. I am very excited about this project and can't wait to launch it in the coming months.
When is it gonna drop?
The plan is for the show to launch in October but I have given a final, final deadline of November 2009! So between now and November 2009 it could drop at anytime.
What you have to go thru to make a show like this?
I have had to put my social time on hold and instead spend a lot of my time on this project as well as mental preparation. I've had to also dedicate my time to networking which is something that I love doing and have already been doing for some time. I have also been working long hours on my laptop building networks with agents and agencies for people like Alesha Dixon, Gina Yashere, Alan Carr etc...Although these aren't people who are definitely being filmed for the show just examples of who I’ve had to network with...I am not giving anything away lol
I've been lookin thru your pics and I absolutely love them! It’s the facial expressions that are doing it for me. Gimme a caption for each pic or maybe a little story to go with it :-)
Readers, I'll leave you to guess which one is which.
"Kiss me"
"I Know i'm fly!"
"This silver paper is so nice...really matches my belt!"
"I can't seem to do this damn jacket up - do you think anyone will notice?"
"Shhhh!"
"I'm stuck!"
"OH NO! You caught me!!"
"I feel so damn sexy!!"
"This is what i'm going to do to you"
"Daaaaaaaaaaamn!"
"I'm just chilling"
So, you've also been in some music videos, what were they like?
The music videos were good, they are just very time-consuming. I've had a lot of fun doing some of the videos in the past but generally enjoy the networking more....
Were you just one of the girls in the background or did you get up close with the stars?Give us some juicy details and gossip
In two of the videos that I have done I wasn't one of the girls just in the background but once it came to editing I then became one of the girls in the background which was annoying but that is how the industry goes sometimes, it's the nature of the game. But I always ensure that I speak to the artists and build contacts. There isn't really anything juicy to tell, photo shoots are more juicy lol
Ok, let’s get down to Carmen's taste in men. Interpret the following questions how you wish and give me a quick answer (no more than a quick sentence if you have to)
Bald, receding hairline or maturely greying?
Maturely greying for sure! If you're receding then shave it off!!
Buff bulging biceps or slim jim?
oooh i don't like fully bulging men or slim jims...Something in between. I've got to be able to grab hold of you and squeeze!! lol
Skinny jeans and plimsolls or loose fitting with retro kicks?
Loose fitting and retro without a doubt! Hide them skinny legs lol
(hope she’s not talking about my skinny legs lol)
Tattoos or bling?
Tattoos especially on the neck..that just makes me drool...I’m drooling now!
BMW X6 or Honda CBR?
Definitely BMW X6, I’ve seen too many bike accidents and besides, you have a lot of space in a BMW!!
…and to top it off rough or smooth?
Rough!!! I want a MAN!!
Anything you would like to add while on this Urbanworld platform
I would just like to say thank you to everyone who has supported me so far on my journey. There is a lot more to come from me for the remainder of this year and 2010 so look at for it.
