Untold Fashion Show - AW 2010

Desiderata by Tarell McIntosh - Still in school, Tarell has been sewing since he was eight years' old. He trained with a vintage specialist in France then at Vivienne Westwood's studio. In 2009 he took part in and won an award at Fashion Diversity during London Fashion Week.

Lana Luk - Lana Luk creates fashion for women that are capable, elegant and extremely feminine, with a bit of a sneer in their look, but women you want to look at. In Lana Luk's view fashion is the advertising we wear to tell others about who we are. It can be a vice for some, an entertainment for others; it can create new friendships or enhance romance.

Gevorgian - A newly established brand launched in 2010, showing its first Spring Summer 2010 collection. It is designed by Diane Gevorgian who comes from an Armenian background, a 23 year old student from the University of East London. This season's collection “If Looks Could Kill” was inspired from a bunch of metal roosters bought from a Sunday car boot sale. The metal roosters were then (“killed”) chopped to pieces, reshaped into shapes to fit different parts of the human body as detailing and decorations on the garments and footwear, which then inspired the designing and the making of the entire collection.

Ma:LE by Maame Baryeh (Untold's founder) - Each garment is borne from ideas which are visualized in her mind's eye and executed through the use of creative pattern cutting- an art form all of its own and one which first fuelled Maame's passion for design. She launched Ma:LE which is a label created to challenge the too often mundane world of men's fashion.

Mononoko by Mary Mononokpono - Using reclaimed vintage fabrics with eco friendly and ethically sourced fabrics, this collection draws upon influences from Tim Burton's forthcoming Alice in Wonderland film. In addition to the shapes of the talking flowers prevalent in the film, expect to see a play on volume and signature halter trousers given a twist. In terms of colour palette, restrained and black features heavily throughout. There will be bold prints in addition to Mononoko's signature bead and nut detailing. Fabrics used are ethically sourced Nigerian embossed Ankara, recycled wool, chiffon and linen, and soy jersey.

Chichia London - The collection, a celebration of designer Christine Mhando's birthplace Dar Es Salaam, boasts tropical palm, aztec and bright animal prints amongst others and a bold colourful palette using sophisticated shapes. The cotton khanga is faetured in over 80% of the collection.

Pia Love – This season Pia launches her lingerie collection inspired by the legendary musician Fela Kuti.

Bestow Elan – An innovative womenswear label – contemporary in style, inspired by cultural awareness. Created for the discerning female, the designer Erzumah Ackerson draws her inspiration from both classic and vintage stimuli, as well as influences from her heritage.
