My thoughts - Dangerous
I love Stylist magazine. It's free, adds spice to my tube and bus journeys and gives much needed beauty, fashion and life inspiration. Why wasn't a magazine like this available sooner?
And......
Nutty Professor actress, singer and younger sister to the late King of Pop, Janet Jackson, 44, told Essence magazine that she is happier with her body now than she was three 30 years ago. She admitted that her well-publicised body issues stem from her time in the 1970s US TV sitcom series Good Times when band aid was used to bind her chest to keep her developing breast hidden. She said "That plays tricks here [pointing to her head]” an experience that lead to her body dismorphia. Janet is currently writing a self-help book called True You, which features diet and exercise tips. She said: "There comes a time when you don't give an ‘F' what people say or think. "You just do your thing because it's finally about you and not in a selfish way but in a great way."
Also on my radar......
Singer Macy Gray, 42 told the hosts on British TV show Loose Women, she was bullied at school for being 5ft 11 inches tall at the age of 12 and for having a larger than average head. She was constantly referred to as 'watermelon head'.
Ahhh, these revelations are disapointing yet at the same time reassuring because it's good to know that women who are at the top of their game and who are easy to idolise still struggle with body hang ups and other issues.
