» Keri Hilson: 'Nicole Was Forced To Return To Pussycat Dolls'
Keri Hilson has accused music industry big-wigs of pressuring Nicole Scherzinger to ditch her solo career and return to the Pussycat Dolls.
The, then, six piece girl group took a short break following the success of their 2005 album PCD and Scherzinger began work on her solo project, titled Her Name Is Nicole – however, the album was never released.
Several tracks written for the Nicole's album ended up being recorded for the Dolls' latest LP Doll Domination.
Although, Scherzinger insists it was her own decision to return to the band Keri - who wrote a track for the solo album – claims music bosses forced the singer back to the girl group.
She says: "I wrote Alienated, one of the songs on my album, for Nicole's solo project. It was a good album but she decided to go back to the Dolls instead of releasing it, well she was kinda forced to I think.
"It was a good situation for me as I fell in love with that song, so I got to keep it."
There have been many rumours reported that the Pussycat Dolls are headed for a permanent split after their last two singles were released under the name The Pussycat Dolls featuring Nicole Scherzinger. And speculation was further fuelled after an apparent onstage rift at an Arizona concert in April.
