» Rihanna and Chris Brown Want Protection Order Removed
Rihanna and Chris Brown want to overturn the court-imposed protection order banning the pair from contacting one another - because they want to work on their friendship.
An LA judge sentenced Chris, 20, to community service and probation after he pleaded guilty to assaulting Rihanna, 21, following an altercation in February that left the Umbrella singer battered and bruised.
The Take You Down singer was also told he must stay at least 50 yards away from Rihanna and keep a distance of 10 yards from her if they attend the same event.
The former couple consider the order "unnecessary" - and have already broken it by patching things up over the phone.
A source close to the pair tells a New York daily newspaper: “They think it's unnecessary and ridiculous.
"After (the court proceeding) Ri and Chris talked on the phone for almost an hour and really worked at becoming friends. They're solid now."
The source stresses that the former couple are not looking to re-kindle their romance: "That's 100 per cent done. They aren't looking to hook back up again. They're both moving on and going their separate ways."
