» T.I Assistant Murder Trial: Second Brother Sentenced
The brother of the man who murdered T.I's former assistant has been sentenced to 17 years in prison.
In December, Hosea Thomas, 34, was sentenced to 66 years behind bars after he was found guilty of murdering 26-year-old Philant Johnson in a drive-by shooting in May 2006, following a disagreement outside an Ohio nightclub.
Thomas' brother, Pardon, was also arrested following the gun attack, and testified against his sibling at the court case - admitting he drove the car from which Hosea Thomas fired the fatal shots.
Pardon Thomas re-appeared in court last week to be sentenced by US District Judge Sandra Beckwith. He was convicted of drug conspiracy and gun charges.
TI, real name Clifford Harris, is currently serving jail time himself after stocking up on illegal weapons – admitting that he felt the need to protect himself after the incident. He claimed the bullets that killed Johnson were meant for him. T.I walked away from the incident unharmed.
