» The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards
The Grammys took place on Sunday (January 31) at the Staples Center, Los Angeles.
The big winner on the night was Miss Beyonce Knowles who walked away with a record-breaking six Grammys including Song Of The Year for the infectious Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It).
Youngster Taylor Swift was also a big winner on the night, the 20-year-old picked up four major gongs on the night including the coveted Album Of The Year prize.
Memorable moments of the night were the special tribute to the late King Of Pop Michael Jackson which was a performance laden with many special effects. Carrie Underwood, Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson, Smokey Robinson and Usher performed in the tribute, blending their voices with the voice of the late superstar against the backdrop of a 3-D film featuring Jackson's 1995 eco-friendly Earth Song.
Jackson's children, Prince Michael, 12, and Paris, 11 appeared after the tribute to accept a lifetime achievement award for the pop star, who died in June.
There were plenty of other spectacular moments during the night, which opened with the glitzy Lady Gaga performing her hit Poker Face in one of her trademark show-stopping costumes, she later performed a duet with Elton John.
Multiple Grammy winner Beyonce belted out If I Were a Boy and a powerful rendition of the hit You Oughta Know, made famous by Alanis Morissette while Pink sang Glitter in the Air – to a great Cirque du Soleil-inspired routine.
