Tinchy Stryder Getting A Little Help from His Friends (in High Places)

Tinchy Stryder is organising an extra special gig in London to raise funds for Alicia Keys' children's charity.

Alicia Keys’ organisation Keep A Child Alive is a charity that promotes awareness and helps raise funds to deal with the endemic of AIDS of Africa, especially young children affected by the disease.

She has already signed Jay-Z and Sade to perform at her Black Ball in New York in September to boost donations, and Tinchy is doing his part by organising his own gig which will raise funds through ticket sales.

He says:"The work that Alicia Keys and Keep A Child Alive do to help those suffering with HIV and AIDS in Africa is inspiring.

"I hope that by donating the proceeds from this gig I can help further their work."

The show will take place at London's Shepherd's Bush O2 Empire in November.

Speaking of Jigga, he has offered our young Tinchy some notable advice on his career.

The 24-year-old says that he was chuffed to have finally had the opportunity to sit down with the mogul.

Tinchy says: “I finally met Jay-Z in his dressing room in Manchester in June. His people wanted us to meet for ages before then but we kept missing each other.

“He says key things; he is not someone who speaks for the sake of it.

Jay-Z apparently spoke from experience, warning our Brit boy to be wary of his own success: “People always say they can handle it at the start. You have to pace yourself.”

Wise words.
