Derulo's Neck Injury

Pop/soul singer Jason Derulo has been ordered to cancel all touring and promotional activities after he’s recent neck injury.

“To all my fans who planned to come to the Future History World tour, the pain of letting you down cuts me way deeper than this injury I’ve sustained,” Derulo states in a release. “My fans mean everything to me, so I’m praying for a speedy recovery in order to perform for you in the near future.”

Reports stated whilst executing an acrobatic move, Derulo landed directly on his head, and suffered an acute fracture to his vertebra. He has been released from the hospital but must wear a neck brace for the next few months.

"My injury is called a 'Hang Man's Break' because it is the same bone that is broken when someone is hung!" he wrote in a Facebook post.

The 22-year-old says that he is "blessed to still be here" given that he could have been paralyzed from the fracture to his vertebrae.

"I am so blessed to still be here! 95% of ppl with the same injury end up paralyzed or gone. Everything happens for a reason,” he said. “Traumatic experiences can change you for the better. My outlook on life is so much clearer! Don't forget what's important. Life is short so do it today, tomorrow could be a day too late!"
