Music News:

Chris Laid To Rest

Music industry veteran Chris Lighty passed away last week unexpectedly and has the music industry in shock. The music manager was reportedly found dead from an alleged suicide at age 44 after law enforcement officers found him lying face up with a 9-mm. gun next to his body. According to reports, Lighty got into an argument with his wife prior to taking his own life.

Police said Lighty whose wife filed for divorce last year, may have been dealing with financial struggles, including owing about $5 million to the IRS, reports the Daily News.

Diddy and LL Cool J shared a moment outside of the funeral home yesterday (Wed 5th), embracing and comforting each other after losing their close friend. Lighty had once been manager to both stars. "He was a jewel and a treasured person in the community," an emotional LL told MTV News. "Just one of the architects of our culture and he was my friend."

Over the years Lighty was responsible for launching the careers of many artists like 50 Cent and Busta Rhymes, who were both in attendance and many of them regarded him as a father figure. During the service, Cohen and artists like Q-Tip and Busta Rhymes shared their personal memories of the man who helped to shape their careers.
