Yellow Earth presents Boom. A production that will take you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions, you will laugh, sigh and maybe shed a few tears.

We are exposed as to how the real estate agents not only sell property but sell an ideal lifestyle to the consumers. Essentially the theme of self identity while our young protagonist of the production struggles to persuade his mum to sell the property that she has been living in for 30 years to buy a new condo apartment. Not only are we exposed to the mother-son relationship rift that is breaking their intimate family apart, we also how love for family does not mean that that you want the same thing, but instead compromising what each individual wants and needs for everyone.

Comedy is a key highlight in the production as Jeremiah, who has been put in charge of moving corpses that have been buried for 15 years to make way for real estate development has the unfortunate task of informing the deceased family, but it is soon relieved that that he can 'speak to dead people'.  As the corpses lets Jeremiah know plain and simple that he has no intention of moving his burial spot or being cremated Jeremiah takes on the mission of finding the dead corpse family.

Boom is filled with electric performances from the cast coupled with an outstanding script. This is a beautiful production of how the real estate market is affecting families which interweaves into a family broken apart by an absent husband and father.

This production is worth a watch…

Boom is touring the country at the moment and performances are being held at Margate - Theatre Royal, Newcastle - Live theatre, Kent - Gulbenian Theatre, Manchester - Contact, London Riverside Studios
