Do you know where your daughter is?

Young boys are always in the spotlight, coming under scrutiny for being troublesome and criminals. Young girls, however, are now only being punished just as severely as their male peers as their invisible cloak of naivety has been removed.

Angie le Mar's latest offering to the community depicts a 17 year old's journey into “womanhood”. She is raised by a single parent, has wayward friends and is in search of fun, freedom and love and affection.

Carla is a young mixed raced girl attending college with her girls and appears to be caught in the middle of which life she wants to lead. She is not a good girl, but she is not a bad girl either. Just a girl on a rebellious streak but how far she takes it is another matter entirely.

This play looks at mother and daughter relationships and more importantly under the core, it looks at a female's relationship with "manz" or shall I say the love of a father she has never known.

The cast are very convincing in their roles as young teens in society today. Naomi J Lewis is a star in the making, a flawless talent and coupled with Tara S. Brown, they are great to watch.

Daughters' will like this play as they may identify with at least one character who may be a close friend to them, or a true reflection of their personality. Along with a glimpse of how they are perceived by others and how important communication really is with their parents/guardians. The older generation who have an idea of their daughter's lifestyle may see another approach to reach their daughters before its too late….

Performed in an intimate setting, this production is full of drama, truth and comedy. For mothers to appreciate their daughters and vice versa. And for fathers to realise the impact they have on the children they leave behind. Not just the sons but the daughters too.

Do you know where your daughter is? Is at the Albany Theatre in Deptford on the 3rd, 4th and 7th November.
