Women on Wine
Wow (Women on Wine), writen by Shakella Dedi and Directed by R.V.Williams, is a new comedy drama that give a funny look into the lives of women and the day to day trails and tribulations they face. An all women cast but this is no ‘sex in the city’ more real in the field. women brought together by the common ground of love and marriage. Set in a luxury bridal store (veste de doda’s)in the seaside town of Worthing.
A promotional open day with free booze and cheap dresses brings together brides to be from different social backgrounds. Starting with ‘noses in the air and fists flying’ ending on an alcohol infused high. When the lady’s end up locked in the security office over ripped dresses and bad behaviour with nothing but the wine they’ve stashed in their bags and hilarious heart to heart debate to keep them going.
Realising that their not so different they come together and plan a way out of paying up for the damages they caused. Wow! also brings up issues of politic, domestic violence and self value between the classes. Actress and writer Shakella Dedi is one to look out for in the future.
Cast: Colett Zacca, Clare Buckingham, Darrie Gardner, Davina Cole, Jennifer Nicholas, Renee Castle, Shakella Dedi, Linda Large and Victoria Strachan.
